Famous Mexican Soccer Players

Mexican soccer was always known for producing quality players and it’s actually quite surprising that their best national team record is reaching the quarter-finals of a World Cup (on two occasions, 1970 and 1986, both of these World Cups being organized by Mexico). However, the Mexican national side has always been a constant presence in final tournaments and it’s regarded as a tough nut to crack, despite their lack of silverware.

Let’s take a short look at some of the players that made Mexico the strong soccer power that it is today.

-Famous Mexican Soccer Players – Antonio Carbajal

Nicknamed “El Cinco Copas”, or “Five Cups”, Antonio Carbajal was the first player to ever participate in 5 World Cups with his national team and has only been equaled in 1998, by German legend Lothar Matthaus. Carbajal played for Mexico in all the 5 World Cups that took place between 1950 and 1966.

A Guide to Individual Soccer Defending

When playing as soccer defender your main task is to stop your opponents from getting into the 18 yard box. How you stop them doesn’t actually matter. However, you should avoid playing to tough as you may get punished by the referee with yellow and red cards. You should not either keep your eyes on the ball mainly, your focus should be primarily on your opponent.

The biggest mistake you can do as defender is to only keep your eyes on the ball. Have you ever noticed how professional player are reacting when they face an opponent 1 vs 1? They are not looking at the ball primarily, instead they try to figure out what their opponent will do and the best method for stopping him.

Keep in mind also that your task is to stop the defender from getting around you and not stopping the ball. The ball will always be faster than you but your opponent will not. Of course you are not supposed to use some unfair methods for stopping your

Watch soccer games when you want, whenever you want and all of this knowledge can be yours in just under 5 minutes. Find out how in this article.

The Old Days Of Internet Soccer TV

In the older days, the only ways of getting to watch soccer games over the internet was to try to get lucky on one of the few channels available.

During the day, these channels would broadcast normal TV programs but as soon as a soccer match came on TV, everybody would just “hammer” the server.

If you were lucky, you might get a good stream. But most people could not get through or they got the dreaded “buffering” message every 2 seconds so the game became unwatchable.

These Days Are Different

The Best Right Backs Ever To Play Soccer

Often the most underrated performer in a soccer team, the right back plays on the right-hand side of the defence. The primary function for the traditional right back is to defend and play their part in the defensive unit. Great right backs in the modern game have evolved to also pose an attacking threat as well as being defensively solid.

Over the last thirty years, the role of the right back has changed into a combination of defence and winger. Despite this, there is still a role in the modern game for purely defensive right-sided defenders. These include Cameroon’s Rigobert Song, Italy’s Christian Panucci and Crystal Palace’s Matt Lawrence. However, the right backs I have selected all possess skills of attack and defence.
